AbstractThe genus Megachile is divided into three genera, Megachile, Chelicodoma, and Creightonella, differing in their nesting habits as well as structure. The following subgenera are described: Callomegachile, Chalicodomoides, Chelostomoda, Callochile, Chalicodoma (Callomegachile) mystaceana is described from Australia; this species has usually been called mystacea Fabricius, a name properly used for Megachile (Callochile) mystacea Fabricius (=M. ustulatiformis Cockerell).
